Humayra Case Studies – Recent Post Widget Case Studies Jason and Ismael Callum Michaela Kiya Humayra Frank Summer Joseph Humayra Humayra started playing football with her father when she was three years old and has always loved the game. Her local Myplace centre, U Mix in Sheffield, uses football to bring together different communities and has three state of the art, floodlit, all-weather, five-a-side football pitches. Humayra began to attend U Mix’s junior football sessions shortly after her 10th birthday. Her natural talent shone through and she quickly became a star player. After a year with the junior football club -during which she didn’t miss a single game- the staff at U Mix, recognising Humayra’s talent and commitment, referred her to Sheffield United. (Sheffield United play in the second tier of the Football Association’s Women’s Super League.) Since then Humayra been receiving expert training with Sheffield United: – although U Mix continue to provide her with special training on any skills with which she needs additional help identified by her club. Humayra has been a trail-blazer within her community, which has not traditionally encouraged girls and young women into football. Having seen her success -and the modified kit that she plays in- several friends and female family members are following in her tracks and playing football regularly at U Mix.
