The Chesterfield Myplace Development encompasses two, adjacent Centres, the Donut Creative Arts Studio and the Fairplay Centre. Both Centres are in the heart of Chesterfield and are conveniently placed for road and rail connections.

The Fairplay Centre supports children and young people with disabilities and additional needs aged 0-25 and their families from across North Derbyshire.  It provides a range of flexible, child-centred services including play schemes, Saturday clubs for children, youth clubs, activity days, independent living groups for young people, family trips for parents and siblings and parent support groups.  It also offers volunteering opportunities to local young people, with a particular focus on those not in education, employment of training (NEET) or at risk of becoming NEET.

The Fairplay Centre was newly built in 2010 and its facilities include a state-of-the art sensory room and a resource library.  It also has two high quality meeting rooms and a large conference room which are available for hire.  Refreshments and a wide range of equipment are also available.

Fairplay is a registered charity with outreach venues in North East Derbyshire, Bolsover, High Peak and Derbyshire Dales.

The Donut Creative Arts Studio (DCAS) is a youth arts facility which provides young people aged 11-19 (or up to 25 for young people with a disability or additional needs) from across Derbyshire with the very best support for creative arts activities. Its facilities include:
  • a professional-quality sound-proofed recording studio
  • a sprung-floor dance studio/auditorium
  • a multi-media suite
  • computer and rehearsal rooms
  • an internet café.
Daily open access workshops from fully qualified youth arts practitioners in music, dance, drama, media and art are available for young people and sessions offered include singer-songwriting, drama, circus skills, gig workshops and dance.  Services can also be provided to other Centres across Derbyshire on an outreach basis.
